Testing your integration

Testing an Affilibee integration means validating the full path from affiliate click to attributed order. The goal is not only to confirm that a request succeeds, but to confirm that attribution survives the journey through your own platform and produces the expected outcome inside Affilibee.

Treat this as an end-to-end check
A successful API request is only one part of a working integration. You also need to verify that the right affiliate slug was captured, stored, and submitted.

What you are validating

Before launch, you want confidence in four things:

  1. the affiliate slug is captured correctly on arrival
  2. the slug is persisted to the order in your own system
  3. the completed order is submitted successfully to Affilibee
  4. the order appears in Affilibee with the expected affiliate attribution and commission outcome

Recommended test flow

Start with a real affiliate record or a test affiliate you control. Use that affiliate's link to visit your site so the attribution path is as close to production behavior as possible.

Then place a real test order through your normal checkout flow. Once the order is created, confirm in your own system that the stored order data still contains the expected affiliate slug before the submission to Affilibee happens.

After the order reaches the state that triggers submission, confirm that your platform sent the request you expected and that Affilibee accepted it successfully.

What to inspect on your side

The most useful internal checks usually happen before you even open the Affilibee dashboard:

  • confirm the incoming affiliate link contains the expected slug
  • confirm your attribution mechanism stored that slug correctly
  • confirm the final order record still contains that value
  • confirm the outbound request payload includes the expected attribution and order data

If one of those steps is wrong, the issue is usually easier to fix in your platform than in Affilibee.

What to inspect in Affilibee

Once the request has been accepted, confirm that the order appears with the expected affiliate attribution and the commission result you intended based on your current tier and segment setup.

If the order appears but the commission result is unexpected, the issue may be configuration rather than attribution. In that case, review Commissions and Core concepts.

Common validation mistakes

  • testing the API request without testing the affiliate click path first
  • confirming that a request was sent, but not checking whether the correct slug was stored on the order
  • using outdated commission settings when evaluating the result
  • sending orders before they are truly complete in your own lifecycle

Where to go next

If you are still implementing the flow, return to API integration. If the test result does not match expectations, continue with Troubleshooting.
